Appendix is a finger shaped, narrow pouch, vestigial organ present attached to the colon on the right of the abdomen. Appendix doesn’t have any use but if there is a blockage in appendix it forms pus and inflammation which causes many problems and leads to the condition called Appendicitis. Appendicitis name is derived from Appendix and tis where tis refer to the inflammation so it refers to the inflammation of Appendix. Appendicitis is a fatal disease .Bacteria affects the inflammation which causes severe pain in the right side of the abdomen. It spread through the wall of the appendix, the appendix can rupture. After rupture, infection can spread throughout the abdomen. But it is usually confined to a small place in the appendix. Appendix wall contain lymphatic tissue for producing antibodies and contains layer of muscle which is poorly developed. Affected tissue starts dying due to the deficiency of blood supply. Due to the pressure pain increases due to the inflammation.

Appendicitis can be diagnosed by various methods. Abdominal pain is very common pain. Some symptoms and signs of this disease are vomiting, mild fever, severe abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, Loss of appetite and inability to pass gas. Nearly six percent of the world populations are affected by appendicitis. Appendicitis usually occurs between 10 to 30 ages. Appendicitis can come any person at any time. The primary treatment is surgically removing the appendix is the best way to cure the disease.
